FAMILY FAITH FORMATION

       "GETTING ALONG"

This resource, "Getting Along," can be used at any time but is

especially appropriate during this time of pandemic, as families

spend so much time under the same roof. It is a natural

companion to the current lectionary stories of family discord

and sibling rivalries.

S'MORES PRAYER

Do you like s'mores? Chances are your children do! Here's a great idea for family faith formation. Whether your s'mores are made around a fire pit or in a microwave, let the ingredients inspire a s'more prayer! The "recipe" for this simple prayer idea can be found here.

FAMILY FAITH FORMATION FOR AUGUST 2

Rebecca Davis, associate professor of Christian education at Union Presbyterian Seminary, Charlotte, offers this lectionary resource, which includes prayers, a video clip, discussion questions, art and more.  Find "Wrestling with God" here.

PREPARING AT HOME
Busy families run from activity to activity, often without taking a breath or sitting with that activity long enough for it to be meaningful. Activities that are most meaningful in our lives are those for which we prepare beforehand and about which we reflect afterwards. To assist families in preparing for Sunday morning education and worship and then reflecting upon those experiences, a resource called "Preparing at Home" is available by email each Monday morning. This resources offers a synopsis of the weekly lectionary passage of the Bible, family activities, conversation starters, and prayers. You can find it by clicking the PREPARING AT HOME button on the homepage.
